Day 35 - ‘in-a-minute’

How are you?

Did you manage to celebrate Palm Sunday? This is the week that leads to the day that led to the cross and then resurrection!
It is sometimes said that the crowd that cheered ‘Hosanna’ for Jesus then turned on Friday to cry ‘Crucify him.’
I don’t think so.  These were two different crowds. The Hosanna crowd and the crucify crowd.

Remember, on Palm Sunday, Jesus and his disciples started at Bethany village, where he is known. Where his friends Lazarus, Mary and Marth live. Remember Jesus sent for a donkey from Bethpage village. He knew that village too, he knew who owned the Donkeys. Jesus is orchestrating his Triumphal entry riding into Jerusalem, receiving the people’s praises, he is Saviour, the Messiah - the Lord Jesus, the Christ.  It will cost him his life, but he knew what he was doing. Matthew 21:9 says ‘Those who went ahead and those who followed….’ this crowd knew him well and loved him dearly.
That’s the crowd, I want to be in, knowing him and loving him dearly.

Which crowd are you in? Tell him you love him dearly today.

Every Blessing for this Holy Week

A Prayer

God, good beyond all that is fair, in you is calmness, peace and concord.  Heal our divisions, draw us into your divine nature, and through the embrace of your love make us one in Spirit Dionysius of Alexandria (200-264)

Today Let us pray for:

“Thank God it's Monday!”
That's the title of a book by Mark Green which encourages Christians to see their work life as well as church life as a 'calling' and the place where we serve and glorify God.  That’s a challenge for a Monday!

Work Colleagues

For any who are beginning new jobs.

Pray for people returning to work after maternity or paternity leave.

Pray for people in your Christian fellowship

Pray that we will be equipped to share our faith sensitively and effectively with others

Pray for the courage to stand up for what is right and just.

Pray for police and other emergency services working in our communities.

Give thanks for being one of God’s children, and having a loving, nurturing, disciplining Heavenly father.

A Prayer

Heavenly Father, please help each one of us to honour and serve You in every area of our lives. Please strengthen and encourage all Christians in the workplace to demonstrate integrity, faith and love in everything they do. In Christ’s name, Amen.

‘The workplace, after all, is the main mission field in contemporary life - it’s where so many key decisions that affect our lives are made.’ (Mark Greene, London Institute for Contemporary Christianity)
