Day 33 - ‘in-a-minute’
‘Every place is an oratory, Every moment a time for prayer…Build yourself a cell in your heart and retire there to pray’.
Catherine of Siena
When I was at Bible College and lived up in Durham I loved to visit Holy Island in Northumberland. It is such a peaceful place. As the tides ebb and flow, you can escape from daily stresses and sense the presence of our Lord. Of course, God is everywhere, but He loves to meet us in special ways, and in places that become special to us. Matthew 6:6 ‘when you pray, go into your closet, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.’
Do you have a special place of quiet that you can turn to? It may be a corner in your home, a bench in the garden or even a special chair. We can call it a trysting place where we can meet with God for quiet times, worship, word and prayer times.
I encourage you to visit this place today and every day.
God Bless

A prayer:
Prayer for a trysting place
Teach me to live at peace with You, to make peace with others and even with myself. Give me a fresh vision. Let me experience Your love so deeply that I am free to face the future with a steady eye, forgiven, and strong in hope. Amen.
Northumbria Community Celtic Daily Prayer
Today Let us pray for:
Northumbria Community https://www.northumbriacommunity.org/
The people of God, that they may proclaim the Good News of Jesus
Those in despair and darkness, that they may find the hope and light of Christ
Those near to death, that they may find faith through the resurrection
Prisoners and captives
God’s creation, that the peoples of the earth may meet their responsibility to care
“Turn away from your daily work, Hide yourself for a little time from your restless thought;
Give yourself a little leisure to talk with God, And rest awhile with Him.
Enter the secret chamber of your heart, Shutting out everything but God,
And that which may help you in seeking Him. And when you’ve closed the door, seek Him”
St Anselm
