Faith and Doubt - ‘in-a-minute’
Thank you for the encouragement you have given me for these short reflections.
I am posting a couple of ‘in-a-minute’ reflections for a Big Hits Radio which will be broadcast shortly.
I hope this is a blessing.
God Bless

How are you?
I want to start by telling you a wee bit about myself.
When I was twenty-three, I was in a bad car crash and from that moment I became disabled, paralysed from a broken back and here I am forty years later sitting in a wheelchair and talking to you.
The reason I mentioned that is, over the years I have had times when my faith has been tested, dark times when I wondered where is God when things are bad.
I wouldn't say it was about doubt in the sense of ‘is there a God?’ but more like ‘there is a God but he doesn't interact with me personally.’
God in these times becomes impersonal, a higher power type of God or a ‘Him up there kind of God’ not a personal God who interacts with us personally day by day minute by minute.
I came across a verse in the Bible which spoke deep into my heart. It is from the songbook of the Bible, and it says,
‘You kept track of all my sorrows, you collected my tears in your bottle you have recorded each one in your book.’ Psalm 56:8
As I reflected, I thought, these are not words of a ‘from a distance’ God, these are words of an ever-present God who is with us in our troubles, our trials and our suffering.
I believe He longs to reach out to you and it's not about doubt or belief it's more about reaching out and finding out that God is reaching out to you, He is a comforter and a friend in the darkest and in the brightest times of our life.
I hope you can trust in him with your life and in your circumstances today.
I'll leave that with you that verse again “You kept track of all my sorrows, you collected my tears in your bottle you have recorded each one in your book” Psalm 56:8.
