Prayer from Homiletics July 2015 issue, p. 26, Loving God, we give you thanks and praise that, through Jesus, you healed the sick and fed the hungry. With a few paltry fish and loaves of bread, you fed a crowd of famished people, and with grace to spare. We, too, long to be fed. We, too, clamour for your healing touch. We come to you in prayer now, pressing in on you from all sides, with our needs and desires — some trivial, some profound — and through it all, you love us. A Prayer for all who are suffering pain or grief
Most merciful God, whose wisdom is beyond understanding, give to the suffering and the bereaved the consolation of your love. Sustain them in their anguish and strengthen them to meet the days to come; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.Lord we pray for those who are in Hospital, the Hospice, and Care Homes - those who need your healing and some who near the end of their earthly lives. We pray for those who are depressed and those in grief. Comfort them, lift them up, and feed them the bread of life, sufficient for the journey.
