Day 25 - ‘in-a-minute’
Good Morning
A bit of humour coming up! Today let’s thank God for the person you have become in Christ.
According to today's Health and safety guidelines, those of us who were kids in the 20th Century shouldn’t have survived.
We had no Facebook, Twitter or TikTok. We actually made friends - we went outside and found them.
We shared one drink between friends and no-one suffered. We played elastics and french cricket, we made up games with sticks & tennis balls. We fell out of trees, got cut and broke bones and teeth. We didn’t blame God or anyone else, we called these things: ‘accidents.’ We learnt not to do it again.
Look at us, who we are and our peers and let’s give thanks. We are risk-takers and problem solvers and overcomers!
Psalm 139:14 says, I praise you [Lord] because I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
Praise the Lord, it’s good to be alive today, may God bless you richly. Kelvin <><
A Prayer by Thomas Merton (Born 1915)
My Lord God ..... I believe that the desire to please you does in fact please you. And I hope I have that desire in all that I am doing. I hope that I will never do anything apart from that desire..... Therefore will I trust you always though I may seem to be lost and in the shadow of death, I will not fear, for you are ever with me, and you will never leave me to face my perils alone. Amen
from Thoughts in Solitude
Today Let us pray for:
The persecuted Church
The oppressed peoples of the world
All who are lonely
All who are near their end of life
All who are facing loss
A Prayer for our World
God of compassion and mercy, we bring to you our divided society and our broken world, seeking your healing and transforming grace; Break down the walls of hatred, distrust and bitterness and open a way for us to reach one another in truth and love. Enable us to build a society where all can belong; where we can share our gifts in mutual respect; and where the stranger can find a welcome. Through Jesus Christ. Amen. Corrymeela
