Day 14 - ‘in-a-minute’
Good Morning
Moses’ father-in-law was a good mentor to him. Exodus 18: 17-19 tells us Moses’ father-in-law replied, “What you are doing is not good. 18 You and these people who come to you will only wear yourselves out. The work is too heavy for you; you cannot handle it alone. 19 Listen now to me and I will give you some advice, and may God be with you.” That’s the way to tell them!
Moses’ father-in-law gave him some good advice because he was trying to do too much. Perhaps you need to hear today that you don't have to handle everything by yourself either. Find capable people to share the responsibilities in other words delegate. In this way others will flourish and your burdens will be lighter. Think about it!
May God Bless you, today

Prayer
Let us go forward, O Lord our God, still surrounded by your loving kindness, still pledged to your loyal service and still standing in your strength, not our own, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen John Baillie (1886-1960)
A follow-on prayer…. Lord God, you help those who come to you and give hope to those who call on You. Set our hearts and minds at peace that we may bring our prayers to you with confidence and joy, Amen
Today let us focus on all kinds of children’s work. The UN’s World Youth Report states: 1.2 billion youth aged 15-24 years constituted 18% of the world’s population and 25% of all people of working age. Never before has this age bracket constituted such a large share of the overall population.
Today Let us pray for:
Children who live on the streets
Children who are exploited or abused in the sex trade
Children who are loved in adoptive or foster homes
Children in your family
Young people’s ministry in your church
For families expecting and those with a new arrival
For parents who have recently lost a baby
For your Hospital’s Neo-Natal, Delivery Suites and paediatric units
For our midwives, community nurses and Health visitors
Father, we thank You for the dedication of children's and youth workers operating in churches and communities. Please help them to connect with the young people they meet and help them to find in You, the source of all fulfilment, meaning and love. Amen.
